Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 7, 2026
Coral Community (“Coral,” “we,” “us”) runs a private membership community at coral.vip and in the Coral mobile app. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. We keep it honest and specific to what Coral actually does. If anything here is unclear, email us at hello@coral.vip.
What you give us
When you apply and use Coral, you provide:
- Your name and email address, which power your account and sign-in (handled by Clerk, our authentication provider).
- Your application answers and the profile you build: things like your bio, location or city, interests, what you offer and what you are looking for, and any photos you upload.
- The content you create in the community: direct messages, group chats, the Lounge, comments, posts, and reactions.
- Billing details when you become a paying member. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
What we collect automatically
- How you use Coral: the features you open, events you RSVP to, and actions you take. We keep this interaction metadata to run the community and to suggest relevant members and connections to you.
- Device and session information, general location inferred from your IP address, and diagnostic data that helps us keep the app working.
- A push notification token, only if you turn on notifications, so we can deliver them to your device.
Service providers we use
We share the minimum data needed with a small set of processors that help us run Coral. Each only receives what it needs for its job.
| Provider | What it does | Data it processes |
|---|---|---|
| Clerk | Accounts and sign-in | Name, email, authentication and device/session data |
| Stripe | Payments and billing | Billing details, email, payment status (no full card number stored by us) |
| PostHog | Product analytics and session replay | Usage and events, plus a 10% sample of session replays with all text inputs masked; may include name, email, and IP for signed-in members |
| Google Analytics 4 | Aggregate usage measurement | Usage, device identifiers, IP address |
| Sentry | Crash and error diagnostics | Crash and diagnostic data, plus replays that mask all text and inputs and block media |
| Web Push (VAPID) | Delivering notifications | Your device push token |
Our own database (hosted on Supabase) stores your account, profile, application, content, and interaction metadata so the community works.
How we use your information
- To run, personalize, and secure the community.
- To match members with each other, including the Coral Partners program and relevant introductions.
- To improve the product and fix problems.
- To send you service messages and community updates.
How your data powers Coral (and our AI)
Coral is built around helping the right members find each other, and that works because we learn from what you share. You agree that we may use your profile, application answers, and activity in the community to operate and improve Coral and to power our matching and personalization features, including Coral’s AI, which learns patterns from member data to suggest relevant people, corners, events, and introductions. We use this data to serve you and the community, and for no other purpose. You can request deletion of your account and data at any time (see Your choices).
How we share it, and our promise on selling
We will never sell your personal data, to anyone, ever. We also do not share it for cross-app advertising. We share it only with the service providers listed above to run Coral, or when we are legally required to, or to protect the safety of our members.
Your choices
- Edit your profile at any time from your account.
- Turn push notifications on or off in Settings.
- Delete your account yourself, in the app, at Settings. This removes your profile and content from the community.
- Ask us anything about your data by emailing hello@coral.vip.
Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to access a copy of it, to correct it, and to request deletion. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, so there is nothing to opt out of, and we will never discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You can delete your account in Settings or contact us at hello@coral.vip to make any of these requests. We will verify your request through your account email.
Your rights in the EEA and UK (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our use of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Our legal bases for processing are: performing our contract with you (running your membership), your consent (for analytics and notifications), and our legitimate interests (keeping Coral secure and improving it). Coral is operated from the United States, so your data is processed in the US under appropriate safeguards. To exercise any right, email hello@coral.vip. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your profile and content from the community and retain only what we must for legal, security, or accounting reasons.
Children
Coral is for adults. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and database access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Coral evolves. When we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
